ECHHO Honors our Office Volunteers

We wish to extend a warm thank you to all of our volunteers who have generously contributed their time and energy to help out in the office when we have been short handed. When we need help in the office to cover for a staff member's absence or help with a special project like our recent mass mailing campaign, we are relieved to know that there are many in the ECHHO family that we can depend upon when we're in a pinch. Thank you Sue, Jan, Kay, Brenda, Helen, Peggy, Ella, Francesca, Stephanie, Ginny, Thelma and all the other friends of ECHHO that have helped over the years. Your on-going dedication to helping ECHHO succeed is truly appreciated!

To all our ECHHO Volunteers,

Earlier this month United Good Neighbors presented their annual Good Neighbor Award to Rich and Karen Ciccarone. The award was richly deserved. The Ciccarone's are active volunteers and community leaders and we congratulate them.

We thought you should know that ECHHO did submit a nomination for the award. After considering a number of outstanding individual volunteers, we elected to nominate the entire ECHHO volunteer corps.

The nomination read, in part: "What is unique about ECHHO's volunteer corps is their willingness to respond to a community need when asked. Not everyone can respond every time, but among our volunteers it is almost inevitable that one volunteer will."

Speaking on behalf of our staff I can tell you that we are grateful to represent you and your service in our community. You are good neighbors every day and we thank you all very much!

Port Ludlow Wellness Forums

Are you part of the 50% of Americans that experience back pain each year? Your back and spine protect your nervous system, provide movement, absorb shock, and supply strength and endurance for your body. How can you prevent yourself or someone close to you from becoming the next back pain and spine injury victim? Join us for the Port Ludlow Village Council Wellness Committee's fall forum, "Back and Spinal Issues: Prevention, Management, and Rehabilitation." Tuesday, October 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Beach Club.

Michael Haberpointner, PT, DPT, owner and Physical Therapist at Active Life Physical Therapy in Port Ludlow, has been serving the community since 2005. He specializes in spinal rehabilitation, balance disorders, and back pain. Dr. Haberpointner will be discussing diagnosis and treatment techniques in the management and prevention of low back pain.

Christopher Kain, MD, FAAOS, FNASS from West Sound Orthopaedics in Silverdale offers conservative and comprehensive spinal care for all regions of the spine. Dr. Kain has provided services in the Kitsap Medical Community since 1991 and specializes in spine surgery, General Orthopaedic injuries and disorders. Our new phone system is up and running!

Phone Update Image

Thanks to a generous financial donation from an enthusiastic ECHHO supporter, ECHHO's office now has a greatly improved phone system. This new system will increase office efficiency by enabling inter-office intercom communication as well as improved voice messaging capability, conference calling, an easier call history review feature, and other improvements.

Because of generous support like this, ECHHO has been able to continually improve its service to the community since its founding in 1997.

Financial donations over the years have been critically important in allowing us to fulfill ECHHO's mission of helping those in need. To those who have been able to help, wether as a volunteer or donor, our community will be forever grateful.
